Melissa McCarthy treated fans on Friday by sharing never before seen snaps from cult movie Bridesmaids.

The American actress, 50, took to her Instagram page to reflect on filming the 2011 hit and to share how proud she was to be part of the cast of the goofy comedy chick flick which earned her a 2012 Oscar nomination.

Giving fans of the movie a glimpse from behind the scenes of the film, Melissa, who played Megan Price, uploaded a gallery of photos that were taken when the cameras stopped rolling.

One snap showed Melissa with co-stars Ellie Kemper, Rose Bryne, Kristin Wiig, Maya Rudolph and Ellie Kemper as well as a crew member.

The second photo saw Melissa posing in a burgundy gown in the bridal shop where the iconic food poisoning scene took place.

The final snap in the collection saw Melissa and Ellie and Rose wearing purple bridesmaid dresses as they filmed the final wedding scene of the film.

Also joining the stars in the snap were three crew members.

Gushing over the memories, Melissa typed: “Who knew the recipe for joy would involve vomit, a carpal tunnel glove and a Kangol hat. Happy 10-year anniversary Bridesmaids!!! I’d marry you all over again.”

Melissa’s post comes after director Paul Feig revealed that part of the film was deleted because it went “too far.”

In an interview with Esquire, Feig reflected on one of the film funniest scenes, which saw the bridesmaids get food poisoning after Annie (Kristin Wiig) takes them to a cheap restaurant.

Feig revealed that the iconic scene hadn’t been entirely scripted.

He explained that whilst Annie was always going to steer the girls towards a cheap dress and Helen (Rose Bryne) was going to convince them to buy an expensive one, he didn’t feel like it properly told the story of the rivalry between the two girls.

This was when it was decided that Annie should take them to a terrible restaurant.

Talking of the scene that was cut from the film, Feig said: “There’s a deleted sequence where, after Becca throws up on Rita’s head, she has to throw up again, so she runs out of the bathroom and down the hall, thinking that there’s another bathroom at the end of the hallway.

“It turns out that the door opens onto Whitney’s office; she throws the door open and projectile vomits across this beautiful white office, and all over the wedding picture of Whitney and her husband.”

He added: “We shot a lot of outrageous stuff knowing that we could adjust the balance later. The minute we shot that sequence, we all said, ‘I think this is a bridge too far.’ So we scrapped that.”
